INVICTA

INVICTA was founded in 1837 as R. Picardand [INVICTA SA]. In 1896,  Les Fils De R. Picard, of La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, applied and received a TRADEMARK for  INVICTA for watch, parts, boxes, and packaging and "Invicta" and "Telescope" were registered for watches. By 1911 the company traded under the name INVICTA and the name brands Seeland Watch Co and Eno Watch Co.

By 1922, advertisements for both Invicta/Seeland promoted the fact that the INVICTA firm won a 1914 Gold Medal at the Swiss Exhibition in Berne.

In 1920, SEELAND and INVICTA, were utilizing the same address; and Seeland actually     as promoted thin watches to the public.

By 1923, Seeland was listed as both SEELAND ATELIER DE TERMINAGES and as SEELAND WATCH CO.

During the beginning of WWII, (1940), Morris Hoffman of Invicta-Seeland Inc., New York began importing the INVICTA name brand watches from Switzerland.

SEELAND
Word is that SEELAND was founded by Frederic Seeland, the American manager of IWC, who left IWC in 1879. First registered as SWC" in 1896, by 1902, it became JUDITH & CO. and in 1913, back to SEELAND WATCH CO.
