VENUS CALIBRE 188 CHRONOGRAPH
IN EXCELLENT CONDITION

This movement in this stunning and totally restored & serviced time piece is the very example of the movement that would signal the changes that Valjoux would make in the development of the 7730, 7733 and the 7734 through 778X calibers (including the 7750 Auto!).

In 1966, Valjoux acquired Venus and attained the rights to the new cam/lever and switch of Cal 188 that Venus had made. Valjoux made 175,000 copies of the 1948 Venus 188 cal.The 188 was re-branded as the Val 7730 and then eventually redesigned as the 7733.

The basic cam design of the Venus are still used today; the familiar start, stop and reset action now seen in all mechanical chronographs and stopwatches.

The Valjoux 7750 movement (an automatic descendant of the 7733) uses the same springs but nevertheless has a well-earned reputation for ruggedness and reliability. .

The ORIGINAL outstanding dial is signed Soleix, 17 Rubis, Incabloc, Ebauche Swisse, and sports the original luminance hands and hour markers.

NOTE:
Ebauches SA began operations on January1, 1927. In 1932, Ebauches became Eterna SA. Soon after, Eterna SA was christened ETA SA, which is an abbreviation of Eterna.
